Unique projects by design students from three European countries use the existing product portfolio from nearby hobby markets with the ambition to raise the quality of DIY production to a new level.
Is it design or hobby? With a designer's eye and a designer's mindset, they develop the idea of cheap, accessible, aesthetic, functional and eco-friendly design for those who cannot afford more expensive solutions.
The exhibition concept thus indirectly responds to the often-contradictory aesthetic value and meaning of the creations of enthusiastic amateurs, influenced by hobby shows in mainstream media.
